A stand of 8 of our latest Mk III Solar Captors (4 sq metre version) is capable of providing heat to generate not less than 256 kWhs of energy in an eight hour period of sun. That energy can be converted into electricity or used for the reatment of volumes of water for drinking purposes or for hot water to meet the demands of industry.
The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power unit, with a lifespan of over 25 years, will convert heat energy into electricity and can run continuously with very little maintenance.
Our prototype of the 15 kW ORC Engine
The process involves the conversion of liquid into gas in an integrated heat exchange unit using the heat absorbed by the working fluid within the core element of the Solar Captors. As the gas expands and pressurizes, it is fed through a turbine connected to a generator which produces electricity.
We have designed and built our own 15kW unit and we are now working to
develop units of up to 75kW; larger units will be supplied by Ormat Technologies as part of a recent agreement. Ormat Technologies are world leaders in this field.
